If you are a parent who is looking for some wholesome things to do with the family in Kuala Selangor, you may want to check out the petting zoo. Huzin Fauzi Farm has more than 40 animal species, including cows, goats, rabbits and horses. There are a handful of activities you can do like animal feeding and archery.
The Taman Alam Kuala Selangor is a nature park that is home to a large variety of flora and fauna, including rare species of birds and butterflies. The best time to visit the park is between September and April, where you can witness the the migration of some species of birds. Visitors are recommended to bring their own binoculars for a spot of bird watching.
If you’re not keen on birdwatching, you can also walk along the trails in the park.
Another attraction that’s perfect for nature lovers is the firefly park or Kelip-Kelip Kampung Kuantan. This popular place is one of the must-visit spots for tourists in Kuala Selangor. The fireflies that inhabit this mangrove is of the “pteroptyx tener” species.
The boatmen here use traditional rowboats instead of motorboats, to avoid any noise pollution that would agitate the fireflies.
Laluan Seni Pekan Lama, an arts and cultural trail in Pekan Lama, is filled with 15 heritage-themed murals, which were painted on the walls of the older buildings in town. Some of the more prominent artwork here are Bunga Artistik and Lombong Bijih Timah.
